I am currently a sophomore in school. I would like to get a head start over the summer preparing for some of the harder APs that I will be taking next year. I will be taking APUSH, AP Lang, AP Calc AB, AP Music Theory, and AP Chem. I will be preparing for AP Music Theory by spending time on musictheory.net and working on my ear training, and don't really feel that I need to spend any time preparing for APUSH or AP Lang, however I am quite nervious for AP Chem as well as AP Calc AB (I am in regular Precalc w/ trig this year as well as Chem Honors). Would a good way to review and get ahead in these subjects be to purchase the Princeton Review books for them, or could anyone recommend a separate book for any of these five subjects? Thanks!

I know this is a bit premature but hopefully no one will get mad if I bump this, as there are many new posts regarding the newly released AP Exams.

as for ap chemistry, just pray

You don’t think there’s a way to get a jump on that class?

SwimNSchool: Im self studying chem, and taking calc ab (bc for me) as well. I think i will be buying the PR and possibly Barrons for chem. Im not worried for calc though.

im gonna to PR for AP chem, that way I can have a good base for when the year kicks off. PR is more general so it’s good as a “warmup.” Barron’s is a lot more specific so would be difficult summer work

^ that makes sense ill buy barrons later then.

im going to read the textbooks. I do not care what people saying that I should read the study guides instead. I do that when AP exam week is coming near.

I am taking AP Literature next year. I am planning on reading several books over the summer. Does anyone have suggestions that might be helpful for the class?

Focus more on AP Chem, It is one of the hardest AP science courses. As for Calc AB, its really not that hard caompared to BC. You’ll do well on Calc AB.

I’m probably beginning to self-study some APs this summer, and all of you seem to think I should get a jump start on Chem, so perhaps I’ll do that too. ^^

if possible, i highly recommend devoting time to chem equilibrium - my ap chem class in my sophomore year (got a 5 on the test) got to equilibrium in february, and it was absolutely miserable … it was difficult for everyone (even this one guy who got into princeton) so try to review that.
