Preparing for classes during summer

My current junior schedule consists of:

AP US History
AP Comp. Sci
Physics
Pre-calc H
AP Language
AP Statistics

Personally, physics and pre-calculus are two subjects I will find easiest judging from my handling with math/science subjects over the years, so those I don't have to worry about right now. Over the summer, I am going to learn Python then move over to Java/JScript to have an advantage in Comp Sci, so that's one thing I'm doing to prepare. Language has always been a breeze for me but honestly aside from reading there isn't much I can do to prepare for that class.

This leaves me with AP Stat and AP US History. How would you guys go about preparing for these classes over the summer so I don't get bogged down with stress during the school year? Past the assigned summer work, of course. I want to be ahead because I don't feel comfortable being at the same level with other people who are clearly superior to me.

Just relax during summer.

There’s really no point in preparing for AP US History.

The summer assignment usually sets you up with all you should really know prior to the class. I had an edge over many of my classmates because I was more aware of current events and the realm of politics, but that was mostly due to my incessant watching of CNN, MSNBC, and, of course, the Daily Show. (ha.)

I think that if you want to perhaps be more familiar with current events and politics, which will allow you a bit of more depth in your comprehension, make it a habit this summer to watch at least one news broadcast or some political analyst program per week.

Just chill man
