Preparing for College admission

Hi,
I'm a Freshman in high school. I was wondering if there's anything specific I should start doing to prepare for college. What is recommended?

Wow! I wish I had started thinking about college as a Freshman! Right now, focus on pursuing your passions in a meaningful way, whatever that means for you. Take the PSAT so you can get a feel for standardized testing. Work hard in class, participate, and take challenging courses. You don’t have to do any major college research, but think about what attributes you would want. Good luck:)

Also get into ECs you want to be dedicated to – strive for leadership
Start developing good relationships with teachers and MAINTAIN them

I would recommend reading Cal Newport’s book How to Be a High School Super Star. It basically explains how to really wow admissions officers without totally straining yourself. You want to devote a great portion of your time to something unique and interesting rather than spreading yourself thing and joining a bunch of typical clubs. I highly recommend it.
