Preparing for Dynamics

I'm taking Engineering Mechanics: Dynamics in the spring and figure I can use some time over winter break to brush up on older material that'll be used since I heard it's a tough class. What math/physics topics/concepts are emphasized in that class that I could review to go into dynamics with a strong base?

Find a syllabus for the class on your schools website, get the book, and start looking over that information. When you get to an area that you are unfamiliar with, brush up on the past knowledge needed.

Hey Soclydeza. So I am in a rigorous dynamics course at my school at the moment and I can tell you a few things that are helpful with dynamics. First, review your calculus and get good with figuring out 3D geometry. Next, brush up on your differential equations and basic physics concepts with respect to kinematics and other related topics.

I wouldn’t stress too much though, just work hard when the class comes and I am sure you will be fine.

A quick review of your statics class might help. Be sure you can write/draw a free body diagram to understand all the forces acting on a body will help.
