Preparing for NSC

What should we do to prepare for NSC? We have all the paperwork completed and is checked off on the list. What else needs to or should be done? Can we see the course choices, professors and times offered before the NSC?

You should be able to view available courses and sections through Howdy (go to “My Record”, select “Search Class Schedule” and select Fall 2017). Your student will want to work up a few possible schedule options. They might find this scheduling tool helpful: http://aggiescheduler.com Also, they will want to research available profs using Rate My Professors (ratemyprofessors.com) and Grade Distribution Reports available on the TAMU website or using this tool: http://jippylong12.xyz/tamuFGD/ . Finally, I suggest having the CRNs (course numbers) handy as time is of the essence when students input their requested courses and those who come prepared get the available slots. Keep in mind that if your student does not get all the courses they want/need, the first week of class is “drop/add week” where they can make adjustments.
