Sooo I'll keep this short... Basically, should I go about studying for the PSAT the same way someone would go about studying for the SAT?? Like with regular SAT prep books and all... I am going for NMS, and I would like to know if preparing by taking a couple SATs from the SAT prep book would be beneficial. I got a 34 ACT first try with studying a little bit 2 weeks before the test but have never taken the SAT or PSAT (-actually I did take PSAT soph year but got sick midway through the test!!) and I don't think I will do as well on them because I am awful at the SAT vocab stuff. I am pretty good at math and writing, but I struggle a bit with the critical reading section in general. I would like to be in the 222+ range, but to do so I think I will need to put some work in and study and I just want to know the most efficient way to do so!! THanks!!

In short, yes. (Might want to skip over essay advice though)

Good job on the ACT, btw
What do you get on practice CR? I know for a fact that the CR on the SAT tests your full comprehension more than does the English section of the ACT (and there’s vocab on SAT as well).

For CR, read silverturtle’s guide somewhere on this forum (it’s been commented on recently, so it should be easy to find). Sentence completion: go hit those flashcards. Passage questions: is answer extreme/not supported by passage? yes? oops my pencil accidentally drew a line through that answer. ← i swear the second tip is how my CR went from 730 to 780-800.

Oh wait. I might be competing against you for NMS…haha…

sorry for double post, but won’t let me edit :
meant reading section not english, lol

The PSAT and SAT are essentially exactly the same. Preparing for one prepares you for the other.
