Preparing for SAT II & AP World History?

My top choice university focuses on test scores rather than GPA & I'm planning to major in history, so I've decided to take the SAT II World History subject test in June & the AP exam in May.

I'm not particularly worried about either test, but I'm not sure which book I should buy to prepare. From the reviews I've read, Barron is very good & thorough, but notorious for having too much information. I've heard Kaplan is good as well, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Anyone who's taken either or both tests in the past, could you please recommend a prep book & your general experience with the tests? Thank you.

Also, I am not taking World History in school this year. I'm preparing for the tests on my own.

The Official SAT Subject Tests in U. S. and World History Study Guide is a must. The guide, which is put out by the College Board, contains two released exams as well as explanatory answers.

Best of Luck!

I also recommend Barron’s AP book since you will be taking both the AP and the SAT Exam.

Barrons World Hist SAT - gets the job done, take good notes.

I used Barron’s AP World History book and got a 800. Just solve the multiple-choice over and over again, that’s my advice!

Best of luck!
