There are obviously some inherent similarities. Preparing for one might help your performance on the other, but not nearly as effectively as preparing for the specific test would be.

I would say no, although there definitely is a positive correlation between performances on each.

The SATII is an achievement-based test. Thus, what you learn in a precalculus level course in high school is designated as material tested on the level 2. The SATI M is strictly a reasoning-based test based on basic algebra and geometry concepts. This is designed to test your mathematical intuition rather than how much you have gleaned from your high school course.

I agree with mifune’s answer. Although studying for one doesn’t necessarily help you for the other, there certainly is a positive correlation. That is, if you do well on the subject test, you’ll certainly do well on the Math section of the SAT. For example, I got an 800 on both of these, while I do slightly worse in the other sections comparatively.
It could help slightly overall. After doing a lot of math questions in general, you typically get better at learning the variables in context and etc., but it’s probably a vary small increase.

I think that the SAT Subject Test(Math 1 and Math 2) have some similarities with SAT reasosing, but only in some chapters.Generally i agree with SwaGGeReR…
