I've been taking ACT practice tests, and I am puzzled by my scores:

35 E
36 R
35 M
--->32 S<---

35 Composite

My SAT practice (blue book) scores are as follows:

800 M
800 CR
800 W w/ essay

2400 Total

So why is my science so weak, and how can I improve it/practice effectively? I'm puzzled because I am a "science person," normally.

How did you guys who improved your low science scores prep? I'm having trouble finding an effective method. I'm not afraid of doing work; I raised my practice SAT score from 1850 to 2400. I just want a good method that's worth my time.

I'm just very puzzled and disappointed about my science scores. I need some help.

As you know, the science part of the ACT isn’t really a ‘test of science’.

But when i took my first practice ACT i tried to do the science part as i did the reading part (read the whole story actively and take notes) and that was disastrous.

27 Comp
27 Math
25 English
31 Reading
23 Science

Have you read any prep books, i know my barron’s book recommends doing the shorter passages first (not conflicting viewpoints) and save the viewpoints one for last.

If you got a 2400 on the SAT, don’t take the ACT.
Just turn in your SAT. Focus on something else.
Edit:
Oh practice SAT. Still just take the SAT

Science isn’t science. It’s basically referencing and interpreting graphs, charts, tables, etc. I managed to get a 35 on the science section on my first try without studying… my strategy was to simply not read anything, but rather to only look at the question. Usually it will say something like, “According to figure 1…” in which case you can immediately reference figure 1 and find the answer in under 20 seconds. Time saving is what its all about, so you can waste more time on the more confusing passages (the ones you actually have to read!)
