I am certainly going to take SAT in June.
But I am not sure about ACT because I have never practiced it and
I need a lot, I mean A LOT, of time to study for SAT.
Considering the ACT deadline(tomorrow), I need some advice.
The reason why I am thinking about taking ACT is that I heard that
ACT is actually "easier" than SAT. Is it true?
I want to know how different or similar the tests are.
Please help me!

The ACT is actually "easier" than the SAT, the only reason why it may seem hard is because of the time constraints. The ACT tests basic english grammar (easy stuff), math concepts (not that hard either), reaeding (basic questions, but most people complain about not having enough time), and science (not really science, more like graph interpretation).

The SAT consists of more application and the questions are more throught provoking and more critical thinking is needed. Also, vocabulary plays a role in the writing section, whereas in the ACT vocab is almost nonexistent. The critical reading in the SAT is harder and the math is also harder (not by an exorbitant amount, but you catch my drift)

I would say that if you are a sophomore, just forget it..If you are a junior you should probably study for the ACT first and not risk having a low score (unless you know you are going to receive a 30)

whoever told you the act is easier than the sat is misinformed.

the tests evaluate different skills

the math section on the act requires a higher level of math study, whereas the sat requires a deeper understanding of lower level math concepts

however, the sat critical reading requires a deeper understanding of the passages than does the act

the sections of the act require a much greater completion speed than the sat, you often feel like you dont have enough time

it's a matter of opinion,

but you can always take the act whenever you want, because only the score that you want shown, for the act, is shown.

In the ACT the math is not as hard as the new SAT, but is harder than say the old SAT

notice i did not say harder, i addressed the differences, harder is a matter of opinion

gracias ryanberry, it would be a stupid argument, you were right

nah dont think a thing of it sr6622, im just glad that other people are willing to help as well, and good luck on your standardized tests
