I cant attend orientation & i was given august 3 at 7:00am to do my classes, so for the past couple days ive been trying to figure out a good schedule, that has some of my prebiochem requirements, and has easy gpabumper ge's. so what do you think, is one of the ge's much harder than i probably think? is it a schedule that I can get a 3.7+ with hard work...yeah here it is

WOM STD 10 INTRODUCTION TO WOMEN'S STUDIES: FEMINIST PERSPECTIVES ON WOMEN AND SOCIETY WILLIAMS
TR 12:30P 1:45P MS

CHEM 20A CHEMICAL STRUCTURE SCERRI
MWF 1:00P 1:50P YOUNG

HIST 1A INTRODUCTION TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION: ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS, PREHISTORY TO CIRCA A.D. 843 GEARY

MATH 31A DIFF&INTGL CALCULUS BROWN
MWF 11:00A 11:50A MS

For those who are getting their schedule ready before their orientation, or NOT going to orientation and have to do it themselves, you can post what youve got so far so we can compare.

My orientation counselor wouldn’t even let us sign up for four classes; all the OCs pretty much STRONGLY advise against it. They say it’s more important for freshman to get off on a good start and adjust to the quarter system rather than work their rear ends off and pull a meager or bad GPA and start off bad. If I were you, I’d drop one of the GEs.

I’m an incoming freshman majoring in biochem, attended session 104.

It’s really up to you. School in Florida is pretty much based on the quarter system , so I’m used to the speed of the academic life. If you aren’t, just take three classes but I think four is what to normally expect. They probably just want freshmen to be calm and take in the social aspect of college in the beginning. I view that if I take four classes now that means less during senior year. I guess just study more so the sink in GPA doesn’t occur. Well, good luck and see ya around.

Yeah, I was thinking about that…but the amount of gE’s for my major is 9, so i just want to get them out of the way.

are the ge’s i have listed easy?

I went on the 4 classes a quarter system back in canada and it was time consuming but not impossible. I guess I could drop the history if anything.

How are you guys doing? For some reason, URSA won’t let me enroll. Error says, “This secondary has college and/or major restrictions which you do not meet. Consult the On-line Schedule of Classes or URSA OnLine Classes and Real-Time Enrollment Counts for details.”

I’m talking on the phone to a UCLA person as we speak. I’ll let you know what’s up. In the meantime, have you managed to add ANY classes whatsoever?

oh i figured it out. it says “This secondary has college and/or major restrictions which you do not meet. Consult the On-line Schedule of Classes or URSA OnLine Classes and Real-Time Enrollment Counts for details” when you enroll in a discussion thats only open to a certain major. so if you click on the class to enroll and it says :
Primary Section Restrictions (Applies to the whole class):
None
Secondary Section Restrictions (Applies to this section only):
None

then you can enroll with no problems. when there are restrictions that you dont meet, then it says that. i wish i knew that earlier because i had my whole schedule ready and everything. i enrolled in this:

Neuroscience 10 with levine m.s/watson j.b
chem 20a with scerri
history 1a with geary…

i still plan to switch that history for math 31 a though if they give me a pte number
