So for those of you who constantly hit 2100+, how will you be preparing the last few weeks?

I’m going to take 2 practice tests a week and try and get in the 2300+ range

hey, me too. You think its possible? We still have around 6 weeks.,

Hi.
I am doing the CollegeBoard practice tests. Done with 2 of them. After I am doing with the 10 tests, I will do as many I can of CB’s Online SAT prep program.

Which book are you referring for tests? Signed up for CB’s online prep?

I’m reading silerturtle’s guide and Jane Austen. Score average :1500

Right now I’m scoring around 2100 and will do one test a week, go over wrong answers, read direct hits and read silverturtle’s guide a week before.

^ Same for me.

i iz stressed

I just scored a 2150 yesterday with a 750 in CR which I was not expecting at all. It’s the first practice test I took all summer (procrastination fail much?). It was the first test in BB 2nd edition, so I’m not sure if it was just was just easier than usual or if i actually did better than normal…

I’m probably going to be doing 2 practice tests a week as well as cramming in direct hits somewhere in there…

I’ll be taking ACT & SAT practice tests with my dad to perfect my CR technique & speed until school starts, along with reading Catch 22, Art of War, and Direct Hits (once BN finally ships it to me). My biggest weakness right now is vocabulary based, other than that I just need to stay in test-taking mode and eliminate careless errors.

Score on Test 2 last night: 2340 – 800 Writing, 800 CR, 740 Math, but I didn’t write the essay (gave myself a 12 lol) I should mention I’ve been doing practice tests from different books throughout the summer…

For the remaining time I’m going to be getting examples for the essays, writing essays, and doing practice CR…and taking the practice collegeboarf tests

Good luck all :D

^ I think it is wise to give yourself a 10, which is not too high and not too low. It’s just right and more accurate of a predictor.

Guys, what do you think is the difference between a 2200+ score and a 2300+ score? (don’t say “of 100 points”)
If you get 2200 –> You probably got a one question wrong in Math, and about 3 each in Writing and Reading.
If you get 2300—> You probably got an 800 in math, and a couple of questions wrong in either of the remaining two.

Do you think it’s only a matter of luck, and what you do at that MOMENT? A guy who scores 2240 can score 2300 in another test.
I don’t think you need to LEARN more “strategies” when you have scored a 2200+ score. It’s only a matter of concentration now… You need no more practice… Just need to concentrate.

Do you agree with my thesis?

Yes. But there’s still a difference between 2200-2300 range and 2300-2400, or plain 2400. If you’re wondering if you should study to get a higher score, I say study, and do it right, and stay away from too much thinking (personal philosophy).

Be sure when you are doing the practice tests to look up any word you don’t know, since none of the lists or books has every single word on every test. Last year the College Board was in love with the word “wry” and they used it 5-6 times on SATs and PSATs. They like to use it in an “author’s tone” type question as well in a sentence completion. They also seem to really like “ambivalent” or words with the “ambi” prefix.

duckBlase, I guess you’re right… but how much practice is enough practice? Some of my high scoring friends say, they just did the 10 CB tests, and did them over and over again. They reflected on their mistakes and did lot of post-test-thinking.
Others say, they did 50+ tests, and just continued doing them.

Thanks! Will keep that in mind. :)

Anyone doing Barron’s 2400? I find that Math section more difficult than the Real test, but it’s very helpful!
Gruber’s math workbook is very basic. Anyone doing it?
