Preperation for International Development

I am only beginning my college career this fall and plan on eventually pursuing a MA in International Development.

I was wondering what I should do now to prepare for the competitive application processes to come in both academia and the work force.

Specifically, what should I major in? What are my best options outside of a BA or BS in International Studies or International Relations? The school that I am planning on attending does not offer degrees in either.

Also, what type of volunteer work would be most helpful?

Thank you so much for your time.

Perhaps learning to spell would help, eh?

You say preparation...

I say preperation...
