Prepping for Bio

Someone on these forums told me to prep for Bio E/M with Barrons AND PR. Now that I have both books, I was wondering what exactly the point of that was. Should I use one book as prep, and I use the other for the practice tests?

The point is to read both of them since they do not cover the exact same topics.

If you have a weak area, I would suggest Barrons for that specific part since it is much more in depth. If you need a general refresher, use PR.

I use read Barron’s word for word. Then i just skim through PR to look for things i don’t know, and do the practice questions for a general review.

Barron’s is good enough. Read it carefully.

PR practice tests.

Like others said, Barron’s for more comprehensive detail, PR for a good coverage. I used Barron’s and took practice tests from both- served me well.

I like PR for the practice tests, but not thrilled about the review sections. Can’t get my hands on Barrons, but I do have the Cliffs AP Bio review book. Does anyone know if Cliffs AP would be a good review for the SAT Bio subject test? Thanks.

I think Cliff’s will be more than enough.

Yeah, Cliff’s is similar to Barron’s in that it is almost too thorough (not that that’s bad for reviewing though).
