I am a more conservative person, and while I hate to use labels to describe myself, preppy would best define me. I want a college that will surround me with educated and interesting people, but I also want to feel like I can fit in. This is why I am asking for schools that are fairly preppy (as in ideas, morals, beliefs, and style of dress). My GPA is a 3.5, and I have a 1950 combined SAT score. I feel that this will help in recommendations. I am really only interested in schools either on the East coast, or the West coast. Any schools in the middle just don't have the appeal, being that I am from California.
Thank you very much!

I can confirm that Furman belongs on the list.

Sad that you just assume you would hate the Midwest, or have you had any actual bad experiences in the Midwest? There are wonderful, selective colleges with very smart students (and many Californians) in the Midwest. I can speak from experience at Carleton. It has students from California, the East Coast, and the Midwest, and it has kids from prep schools, boarding schools, internatl students, and public school students. Why not consider broadening your horizons a bit and getting to know a variety of people? Just a thought…

look into Trinity College (CT)

My D1, who was preppy in hs, thought Trinity CT was very preppy, maybe even too much for her- but I wouldn’t say that guarantees conservative. In our experience, two different things.
