So I was looking around in the website called PrepScholar and I noticed that there’s a calculator in the website for every college that lets you know you chances of getting in if you put in your SAT score and you’re GPA.

I have two questions about it:

  1. Is it credible and genuine?
  2. For the part where you have to put your GPA, do you put your weighted or unweighted GPA? The scale lets you go up to 5.0 but I’m not sure which one to use. For MIT for example, it says that the average has a GPA of 4.15 but I’m not sure if that’s weighted or unweighted.

Obviously, the calculator cannot be accurate as it doesn’t factor in things like essays and ECs. And if the average GPA is 4.15, that obviously has to be weighted.
