Prereqs

So I've signed up for Vertebrate Neurobiology even though I am concurrently signed up for Genetics.

I have a lot of experience in genetics from prior classes BUT Vertebrate Neuro requires BIO 235.

Is it true that students get dropped from classes if they don't have the prereqs? The system let me sign up for the class, so I assumed it was okay. Is there any way I can take the class without the prereqs?

Thanks

I know for the Math department if your ALEKS score isn’t where it is supposed to be, then you will get an email telling you that you have a certain amount of time to either take the test or present the department with evidence of the proper prerequisites. Not sure how it works for BIO, but I imagine there is some sort of system involved.

You must have the required BIO 325 Genetics before you take any other UPPER division biology class. It really sucks, but UT just requires it.

Side note: Vertebrate Neurobiology was one of my favorite classes, got me to switch majors to Neurobiology from BME haha
