Prerequisite AP Comp Gov & Politics

SoSo we take honors classes to prepare for AP tests

eg. Honors chemistry move on-----> AP Chem

However in my high school we don’t have high school honors classes for comparative politics.

So is there exactly a high school prerequisite students have to take before moving on AP Comp Gov?

I’m sure there is though otherwise my freshman cousin (14 yr old) will be able to start AP Comp Gov?

Thanks!

No, comp gov is a baby AP, i guess civics might be a pre req

Clearly, it’s completely up to your individual school, but it wouldn’t hurt to have an Honors World History course under your belt before Comparative Government.

I took comparative government only after a semester of AP world, at the time I started the AP Comp Gov, my history class was only in the middle ages and i got a 4 on the ap comp gov test and i knew nothing about politics before i took this class you should be fine.

The best prerequisite for AP Comparative Government is a club called Model United Nations. At my school, it is also a class called Contemporary World Issues/American Problems. Trust me, I earned a 5.
