Prerequisites and foreign language

Yeah i was wondering if your major's articulated prerequisites have to be completed before transferring from CC to UC. Am i right in assuming if they dont articulate, you dont have to take them and if they do, that you HAVE to?

My other question is about foreign language. For the UC's you usually have a 3 course language requirement at least for A.B degrees. For UCLA i cant seem to find any page which shows a foreign language requirement for thier college of letters and science degrees. Do they have this foreign language requirement? Whether yes or no, are there are any other UC's which have no foreign language requirement for a B.A or A.B degree (philosophy, in my case) considering ive already completed the transfer requirement?

I believe that all UC's require 2 years of high school for language or equivalent. Which means 1 semester of Foreign language.

I fairly sure it's two semesters of a foreign language; and, the two semesters must be of the same language. For instance, by taking spanish 1 and spanish 2 it would be fulfilled, but it would not be fulfilled by taking spanish 1 and french 1.

If they dont articulate them then you do not have to take them ---- and the adcoms will not hold it against you. I know Berkeley has no articulations for most CCs for philosophy majors.

But i just took a slew of philosophy classes to make up for it.

yea but isnt it true that the upper division requiremetn for classes is a lot less for Berkeley. I looked it up to be 36 semester units including 6 in other departments (thats 54 in quarters). I think its like 64 for Davis and 60 for UCLA so thats a lot of cut slack to make up for those lack of transferable philosophy classes.

btw, i meant those are the units to attain a bachelors degree for most major in college of letters and science.

That sounds good then. BTW just cause we are both phil majors: have you found any ECs that apply to philosophy. I read alot and write alot of papers (for myself)...would these count.

oh ya i also have done a couple job shadows of phil professors (One in highschool though). How have you faired in this respect?
