Too much chance that state elections will be rigged, minority voters will be removed from registration, young voters will see the polls and assume they don’t need to vote, or the old Bradley effect will come into play.

I thought it was funny that, just as Obama started pulling away in the polls, CNN started hammering the question of whether people would vote the way they say they will. I guess they gotta keep the tension somehow to keep ratings up.

You must be a new voter. You could not possibly remember the 2000 election where Gore was predicted to win and then the 2004 election where all the polls (and exit polls) showed Kerry destined to sweep the victory.

Much nefarious activity afoot in these “free” elections. Dems usually have to win big to overcome rigged machines and such. So, just be patient.

i’m NOT saying that Obama’s going to win. posting in this thread != you think Obama’s gonna win. in any case, i was just bumping this thread for tonight. happy waiting :)

I think it’s a good idea to have an Obama Victory thread. If he wins, we’ve got a jump on the party. If he loses, it might be the last chance for a feel-good party before I move to Canada.

Well, the nonpartisan General Accounting Office did an extensive study and found enough machines were rigged in '04 to tip the election to Bush.

There’s a reason Republicans fight to eliminate the voting paper trail, and it isn’t to save some trees.
