President-elect Barack Obama Victory Thread

I might actually jinx it, but with just a little over one week left, I think it’s only prudent that we start this thread early. :)

Come on in everyone who wants to party here on the night of November 4th, and sign in:

screwitlah

I don’t mean to spoil your party but…

http://dese.mo.gov/moheritage/images/TheViewFromIndependence/TheViewFromIndependence44.jpg

:)

Don’t count your presidents before they hatch.

Yea it’s a little too soon. When, and if (and that’s a big if) Obama wins Ohio, we can celebrate.

i’m just saying, let’s create a thread first. :)

yeah even pugfug will be invited.

Too much chance that state elections will be rigged, minority voters will be removed from registration, young voters will see the polls and assume they don’t need to vote, or the old Bradley effect will come into play.

I thought it was funny that, just as Obama started pulling away in the polls, CNN started hammering the question of whether people would vote the way they say they will. I guess they gotta keep the tension somehow to keep ratings up.

I just saw the Obamas vote on CNN live, and remembered this thread! Not TOO early now, I hope.

Have you guys voted yet? Were the lines horrible?

Go to Starbucks and get your free coffee.

You must be a new voter. You could not possibly remember the 2000 election where Gore was predicted to win and then the 2004 election where all the polls (and exit polls) showed Kerry destined to sweep the victory.

Much nefarious activity afoot in these “free” elections. Dems usually have to win big to overcome rigged machines and such. So, just be patient.

this thread makes me unbelievably nervous. way to jump the gun.

Yeah, rigged voting machines suck.

i’m NOT saying that Obama’s going to win. posting in this thread != you think Obama’s gonna win. in any case, i was just bumping this thread for tonight. happy waiting :)

I think it’s a good idea to have an Obama Victory thread. If he wins, we’ve got a jump on the party. If he loses, it might be the last chance for a feel-good party before I move to Canada.

I think we’re in for a jinx.

Think happy thoughts, Peter.

Well, the nonpartisan General Accounting Office did an extensive study and found enough machines were rigged in '04 to tip the election to Bush.

There’s a reason Republicans fight to eliminate the voting paper trail, and it isn’t to save some trees.

Peter?

10char.

it’s a working day in my country and working hours now - i took leave from work just to watch this on CNN international. anyway,

the projections so far:

CNN
Obama 174
McCain 69

FNC
Obama 200
McCain 90

either CNN is being extremely cautious, or FNC is much better at this.

CNN is being cautious… said something about predicting missouri in the primary and they were wrong something like that.

Ohio has been projected for Obama by NBC. It’s over.
