President Machen resigns

Thoughts? How do you think UF will be changed?

Machen will continue at UF as a professor which is good; with his experience and insight he can continue to help UF as a lobbyist and as an ambassador for the school.

What will be interesting for future direction of UF is who is selected as new president. Gov. Scott just ran off the UF board of trustees chair, Carlos Alfonsso. Scott wants to have a hand in selecting new president and his appointees, such as Chris Corr, no doubt will have some influence in selection of new president for UF. Gov. Scott may not be as interested in maintaining UF’s 1st flagship in state status as past trustee boards at UF have! Time will tell.

Wasn’t too impressed with him. I can’t think of one (good) big thing that was done on his watch besides adding minus grades. I’m anxious to see who the successor will be.

Talking about its next leader.

It seems to me the whole thing has gotten too political
