President or Vice President

Class elections are coming up for our school. And I’m really not sure whether to run for president or vice-president of the class. Here’s the break-down:

I won with ~70% last year with 4 candidates for president

There are almost 10 candidates for president while there are about 4 for VP

Of the 10 candidates they include the current: 2 Vice-Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, and a couple popular/ego-crazed kids with a cough ORM status.

Every class president in history has been selected as a Mr. _____ candidate (pageant), a star wrestler etc.

I’m a nerd -_- " but I really want to keep a position on the council, but im taking on a relatively medium/hard schedule next year.

I have a definite yes to any position from about 15% of the kids (friends)

Oooh, that's a toughie. If I were faced with this situation in my HS, I would run for VP, because I know the way that elections work. However, if students in your high school vote for the person who would do the best job (as the results of the last election would seem to suggest), then I would say... go for it!

I'd say VP to be on the safe side.
