<p>Some people are happy that the recently retired president of James Madison U. is now on the UVa Board, as well as two highly qualified non-voting “advisors”. That was one of the things people were asking for - to have more balance on the board, with some people with experience in running a public university vs. the old board of 15 businesspeople/major campaign contributors and a doctor.</p>
<p>Atkinson’s ties to George Allen was a nice way for McDonnell to stick it to Kaine.</p>
<p>Just read that UVA is now on board with Coursera - one of the newer online education companies. Interesting timing.</p>
