Presidential Scholar acceptance letters?

Did anyone else get their acceptance letter as a Presidential Scholar?? They said they mailed out decisions April 1st and I live near the Bay area...I'm kinda freaking out I was so sure I would get in -__-

They said it would take a while d: as far as I know, they are really backed up in sending and receiving mail. I’m anxious about it too.

well its not for presdiential scholar but they did update my to-do list about a week after i sent in my papers so i think they are catching up on their mail if that helps anything

Thanks that makes me feel better lol…when did they tell you this Nicole?>
and thanks Tutu

They told me this when I emailed them on April 5

I got my letter. I didn’t get it but I am gonna be on the waitlist, in case an opening shows up. Best of luck.

wow rly? :(( sorry to hear…that means ill prob get same kinda letter *sob lol
the acceptance letters are probably priority mail

What were your stats Nikolnicole? Are you still planning to go to CSULB?

How about you samd1993?

Im 2200 SAT, valedictorian, and National Hispanic Scholar, alot of leadership postitons, captain of swim /waterpolo teams etc…so sure I was gonna get in!!! but i still havent gotten anything…
THE Power of One: are you a Pres Scholar?

No, I’m not, but I know several people who are. Anyway good luck! I hope you hear from them soon.

Haha my stats are not nearly as impressive as that, 1700 on SATs (I hated that test, it was my first sitting) I prefer the ACT which is a 29. 4.3 gpa and valedictorian candidate d: I guess compared to Sam it’s no wonder I am waitlisted. Haha.
I am still planning to go to long beach though. It’s still cheaper than going to UCSD even if it IS in my hometown.

ya i think I may possibly just go to long beach as well…cheaper than all these 50k privates -_-…im just ****ed that they wait so long to send out decisions knowing that we have to make a decision by May 1st :frowning: do you guys know any other scholars who have gotten their letters?

Nikolnicole- I didn’t know they had a waitlist for this scholarship. Hopefully, there will be an opening for you. But yeah, UCs are expensive. With the projected budget cuts, tuition for both UCs and CSUs are bound to increase again. Even then, thankfully, CSUs are still affordable. Oh and in any care, I suggest you apply to UHP. You should get in without a hitch.

samd1993- Dude, if you don’t get the scholarship, I will be surprised. Where else did you apply/get accepted to?

I am considering applying to that but don’t you have to tale extra classes? What are the benefits of being a part of it?

ya the last thing I want is a bunch of debt to worry about in my 20’s hahah…cuz i know Brown, Pomona, Swarthmore, amherst, Dartmouth (schools i got into PowerONE) will give me a ****load of debt -_-

but I’m guessing all the acceptance letters for Pres Scholar must have been sent out by now, and they are sending out waitlists and rejections now…

Hopefully you get it soon because there is a deadline for turning in the waitlist paper too.

Nikolnicole- Visit the UHP website for details. [University Honors Program (UHP)](<a href=“University Honors | California State University Long Beach”>University Honors | California State University Long Beach)
You don’t have to take extra classes per se. Most of the classes offered cover some GE requirement.

Sam- None of those private schools offer full-rides to students who are in financial need?

When’s the deadline?..I called and they said they were still making decisions on a bunch of applicants…>.<
No nadda

Well, they had April 15 as the deadline to receive the waitlist request. Its really short notice too because it only gave me 4 days to mail back since I got it Friday afternoon. If anything, they will give you an extension if you get it later than that date, assuming you get waitlist.

I’m also waiting on a letter from Long Beach concerning the scholarship. Did anyone take a VIP campus tour in March for Pres. Scholars? I went and they changed the acceptance letter date from the middle of March to the beginning of April. Now it’s mid April and I haven’t heard anything, the anticipation is killing me!!
