What SAT score would a male from NJ need to be considered for the Presidential Scholar program? I'm guessing 2400?

Thanks

What SAT score would a male from NJ need to be considered for the Presidential Scholar program? I'm guessing 2400?

Thanks

2400? I doubt it.

Well, NJ is a big state (population-wise of course) and usually has the highest cutoffs in NMS and whatnot...

Presidential Scholar candidates I thought were still being determined by
the top 20 highest V+M score in the SAT preceeding the October of
your senior year.

I would imagine a competitive state like NJ will have
20+ 1600s (in V+M) so the cutoff would be 1600 on V+M?

The highest cutoff in NMS is usually shared but this year is just MA (221)
if I am not mistaken.

do you know if these have been mailed out yet?

Wait I think I got some certificate a month or two ago that said something about "Presidential Scholar" and was like "signed" by George W. Bush... is this related?

JUST KIDDING that was totally different.

UMMM so how do I apply for this award? :( I mean, do I need to be nominated or will they contact me?

They will contact you. If you had a perfect score and they don't contact you, then you call them. The ACT counts too (they use score conversion tables, that's where you find out all 36's are not the same). Only two awards per state (one boy, one girl) but some states get an extra one. They send you an application with a part for you to fill out and another for your school to fill out.

Wait I would feel like such a jerk calling them like "SUP I GOT A 1600 AND YOU DIDN'T SEND ME AN APP."

...But I'd totally do it.

This is the government you are talking about. It does happen. Every year.
