Presidential Scholars Anyone?

I know it says invites will be sent December 18-20…has anyone heard anything yet?

Nope, I'm pretty curious myself though!

really? this early? they couldn't just send them with the acceptance letters?

A girl from my school found out today!

I just found out today...does anyone know any of the specifics? I mean, if you go to the weekend in Boston, if you keep yourself in the running, is that a binding agreement that you will go to bc if they pick you? Because I'm really hoping for Harvard or Princeton, so I want to be able to see the results of those before I commit to anything. It seems like a great program, but I don't want to have to make any sort of decision soon.

Its non-binding all th way through May 1 just like any school. Ive read articles written by BC faculty about it and as far as I know, 60-65 are invited to the weekend, about 25-30 of which are actually selected for the presidential scholarship program after writing some essays and being interviewed extensively. Everything I read is along the lines of, BC is trying to sell the program to you, because they realize most of the scholars have other top schools to choose from - so that 15 per year is misleading because they actually give the option to 25 or 30. Congrats on the invite! I'm going to check the mail now out of curiosity.

They are going to admit less than the usual 25-30 Pres scholars this year. Last year a lot more students took the offer than expected so they are going to be a bit more conservative this season. Good luck.

By last year I meant 2010, LOL. Even the conservative admission of the Class of 2011 yielded 3 more than the desired 15.

anyone else get an invitation or know if they've all been sent out?
