What SAT/ACT scores did you have?

I just found out that I was offered the scholarship. I had a great time at the finalist weekend. My SATs are m:800, v:710, w:700 but I really feel that they are looking more for "tomorrow's leaders" and are more impressed with students who take an active role in their community and have a broad range of experiences. During my interview process they referenced my essay many times so I feel that they weigh your essay just as much as your SAT scores if not more when they are considering you for the Presidential Scholarship.

I'm still bitter about not getting selected, even to be a finalist. :-)... I had a 35 ACT / 2210 SAT, decent essays, but GREAT leadership and extracirriculars. (EX. pres. of 3 things, stuco secretary, nhs vp). I'm not trying to boast, but I'm just saying that nobody's a shoe-in by any means. I realize the scholarship is extremely competetive, so congrats to everyone who has earned one! and good luck to all other applicants!

Congrats Scott! What an honor. Do you know how many scholars were selected this year?

Thank you. Out of the over 6000 ppl who applied early, 55 were picked to be finalists. After a 5 day long interview process, the scholarship is offered to 25 kids. They assume that around 10 people won't accept so each year there are about 15 PSP.
