Presidential Scholars Question

That's what I was curious about...

I'm reusing college application essays... so my long essay is about 600 words, and my short one is 412 words (although that seems kinda long - my other ones won't be that long).
Plus, it seems really easy to go over the character limit if you just cut and pace into the box off word... Is that allowed?

Has anyone had any success uploading a photograph for the main essay? I keep getting errors.

You cannot go over the character limit. It took me forever to make it fit bc it counts hard spaces as 30-60 spaces, whichever it randomly feels like choosing.

In other words, good luck.

But, its like I'll paste my essay in and it will already be over the character limit. When I try to save it, the whole essay saves. So, in effect I've gone over the limit.

Is there a RTF format of the application or do we literally have to print, cut and paste our application essays on to the application?

I have no idea what an RTF format is, but I've just been cutting and pasting my essays into the application.
Plus, I decided that it was probably bad to go over character limit, since they do say to be extremely careful about it if you are cutting and pasting.
So, right now I am working on shortening all my essays.

Okay, so I just tried uploading an 80kb photo and my computer is freaking out!

Haha. Dont worry it takes a while.

Just got an email from PSP after a request for help with the photo:

We are experiencing difficulty with the photo upload and the IT staff are
working on the problem. A notice will be posted on the website when you
log in once a solution is found. In the meantime, they recommend you be
sure there are no spaces in the name of your photo. If your photo has
spaces in the name, rename it and try again.

Thank you for your patience, and be assured this issue will not adversely
impact your application.

swimwin39 and all others interested,

i just called PSP regarding paper applications and it is acceptable to print, cut, and paste/tape whatever your essays onto the application just as long as it fits inside of the box and is no smaller than size 11 font. There is no RTF version of the application, just a PDF so there's no way to word process your responses on the app, unless you know how to modify the PDF format to write in it!

I hear the image upload problem has been resolved now.

I typed it all online then went to submit application --> print application, and I printed out the PDF with all the text filled in. Surprisingly, it gave a full page for each assessment essay :o

yea thats true. anyone know, i finished everything but for some reason my signature doesn't show up on the last page when i go to the print preview. the page with the teacher assessment (question E). any ideas?

i just got locked out!!!!! what do i do???? i have to call i know, but im so frustrated with this thing!

when is the semifinalist list coming out?

Very soon. no one knows the exact date but them.

historically it seems like this friday is a good guess

It came out 4/11/08 last year which does support the guess of this Friday (4/10/09).
Good Luck!

are we talking email or mail?
