Presidential Scholarship/FAFSA question

Hello,

I'm a NMF and I was admitted to USC. I'm hoping for the presidential scholarship. Do I have to complete FAFSA to be eligible for the scholarship? The packet I received says I should complete FAFSA asap to be considered for financial aid, but I'm not sure if the presidential scholarship includes this.

Thanks

I’m pretty sure that, since the NMF Presidential scholarship is merit based, you don’t need the FAFSA, but if you need more than what the presidential covers, you do need to fill out the FAFSA and CSS. Also, make sure you have USC as your top choice listed with the NMF committee.

No, You do not need to file the FAFSA or CSS profile for merit aid, including the NMF Presidential scholarship at USC. For all financial aid consideration, you would need to do so.

Great, thanks. Anyone know when I would receive notice of the scholarship?

You will need to list USC as your first choice with NMF. When that is done, it takes a little time for USC to get the list but then it shows up on your Financial Aid online statement and you get a letter.

I made USC my first choice quite a while ago. Do they do it all at once? Around what time can I expect it? Thanks.
