Presidential Scholarship - feedback from current students or parents

I'm going to try this again as a new thread.

My daughter has just received an offer of a Presidential Scholarship to Trinity, which provides a full four-year tuition grant. Obviously this is a wonderful opportunity for her. She has also been accepted at Smith and Mount Holyoke but with no financial aid. The Presidential Scholarship was only started in 2006 apparently and I would love to get feedback from current Presidential Scholars with a couple of year's experience in the Program. Has it lived up to its promise? My D was also asked to apply to the Cities Program and the European Civilization guided studies program, and I'd be curious about student expereience with these programs as well. Thanks for any guidance you can provide.

I am also very interested in information about this Scholarship--I've been given one as well!

It's a hard decision to make for me right now... I have a conditional offer from Oxford and a number of offers from quite good US schools, but we don't have very much money saved up, and it would be wonderful to be able to go to school with far less worry.

Did the Presidential Scholarship information come with your Trinity acceptance letter?

I haven't recieved anything about scholarships or financial aid.....

The scholarship award arrived on Mar 26 in a separate letter with "Presidential Scholarship Award" on the outside of the envelope. The official Trinity acceptance letter arrived on Mar 29.

Thanks for the info. My d. is in at Trinity, and I was curious how that worked.

My son is a Presidential Scholar (class of 2010), and he is very happy at Trinity. Jimmy Jones, the President of Trinity, knows most of the students at Trinity by name, and he makes a particular effort to get to know the Presidential Scholars, who occasionally dine at his house.

If your daughter has not visited Trinity while classes are in session, she should do so. It is a vibrant campus.
