Just a quick question regarding the Presidential Scholarship and the Pharmacy Program. What happens to the scholarship after your fourth year? Do you have to pay full tuition afterwards?

During your P3 or your 5th yr, u will be paying the grad school tuition of the pharm school scholarships i think i still available but it is not going to be as much as you will be getting during your first 4 yrs of undergraduate.

Presidential Scholarship covers your first 4 years (PP1, PP2, P1, P2).

There are scholarships available for P3 and the 3 semesters of rotations (P4). They are mostly need-based, but some are merit. I imagine it would be difficult to cover your entire last 2 years with scholarships - most people have to work as well

Lurker, i know i’ve asked this question a million times in other posts, but what do you think the chances of my receiving the pres. scholarship is?

number 1 in school (in terms of GPA), and 2230 SAT I…thanks!

^ No chance sporty, you need minimum 2250 SAT.

Other than SAT > 2250, Class rank within 10% (or is it less than 10% actually?) what else is looked at for the Presidential Scholarships

o…ok…i just heard that somebody last year got a pres. scholarship with scores slightly less than the minimum required so i thought that would apply for this year as well…:(

i’m not trying to be rude or anything but don’t you think it’s unfair for a person to not get the pres. scholarship if two people have the same GPA and rank, but one gets this scholarship since he/she has an SAT score that’s a mere 20 points higher? (i’m not trying to sound mean and sarcastic! sry if it sounds that way!)

thanks :]

@sporty: I’m not sure about this, but from what I read, the minimum requirements for receiving a Presidential Scholarship has gone up from last year. Now it’s having at least a 2250 SAT and in the top 10% of your class.

o ok. thanks everyone for replying back to my questions :]

Actually there was no minimum score posted last year. The minimum score in previous years was 1500 when they were only looking at 2 parts of the SAT. I believe last year was a transition year when they first started looking at all 3 parts and this year they came up with the 2250 minimum.

mamajay, so does that mean i still have a chance? for the pres. scholarship, that is…

my parents would be soo happy if i got this…

Well last year you would have - but they didn’t have the minimum posted. I think you should call about the January SAT score and see if they’d consider it. The 2250 is based on a superscore so you’d only have to pick up 20 more points on one of the parts to be considered.
