Presidential scholarship

So there is the smallest chance, albeit there is a chance, that i can get the presidential scholarship (this is all my opinion i just feel that i have a slight chance). When would one find out? Do they tell you when they send your acceptance letter? I know i am getting way ahead of myself, but i was just wondering.

I hope this doesnt jinx whatever small chance i may (or may not) have!

The Presidential Scholarship web page ([Presidential Scholars Program - Boston College](http://www.bc.edu/centers/psp//)) says:

Special Announcement:

Letters of invitation to the candidates selected for Presidential Scholars Program interviews (PSP Weekend) were mailed on Monday, December 19, 2011 via UPS Ground. Please note, due to the large volume of applicants for Boston College’s Early Action round, we are only able to notify those students who were selected to be interviewed.

Has anyone got it so far? If so would you please post which State you are in and when you got the UPS letter/parcel?

I got the letter in yesterday’s ups. I’m from MA only 40 minutes from BC. One of my friends at school got it as well.

Thanks cb1024. Now the waiting begins in the West Coast. Would you mind spilling the contents here? Meaning what was in it?

if you dont mind me asking, what were your general stats?

It was a large envelope with a folder in it. There was a letter in the folder inviting me to the weekend at the beginning of February. There were some brochures and an itinerary for the weekend. They basically outlined the program and the weekend.

umm stats…
SAT 2310, ACT 34
GPA 4.0 unweighted
really good extracurriculars (student council president, Eagle Scout, a lot of volunteer experience)

What about your friend haha? Trying to see where i compare

34 ACT, didnt take SAT, 3.97 Unweighted GPA, decent extracurriculars (started one club, vice president of Spanish club/Spanish nhs, a lot of volunteer experience)

We’re pretty much right next to each other in class rank… so our GPA’s are obviously similar. We tend not to share scores much at our school, so I’m not really sure about that… but her extracurriculars are also really great. I’d say we’re pretty similarly qualified.

anyone hear about it from ny?

Keep in mind that it isn’t always just a stats-oriented “beauty contest”, but they will look at your whole “body of work”, background, etc etc…

Good luck.

We’re “full-payers”, but only until next Spring :)…

It is Thursday and nothing yet on the West Coast. I give it until Monday and then give up :)

Does anyone know how many people are chosen?

For some reason I seem to recall there are 60 invitations to interview. Must have read it somewhere on this forum.

All i want for Christmas is to see a UPS truck pull up by my house.

It’s now Saturday and still nothing on the west coast

still nothing in chicago so dont feel to bad haha

@cb1024 Is that what the envelope containing the presidential scholar information looks like? It sounds a lot like the admission envelope; I was thinking you might have gotten them mixed up.

That’s exactly what it looks like. There is also absolutely no mistaking what it is. The Folder inside says in large bold letters on the front, " BOSTON COLLEGE PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARS."

MollyBloom where you from?

@MollyBloom So you first got an admission envelope, and then got this presidential scholars envelope a couple days later? and yes, where are you from?
