So, the Presidential Scholarship finalists will be announced this week, according to the Villanova website. Does anyone know which specific day that would be? Perhaps someone remembers from last year or they spoke with the admissions office. I'm getting pretty anxious to find out!

It’s basically as soon as they can put them together, they put them up on MyNova. The process going through the faculty of all the different colleges and majors is very long so it takes a while for them to go through the 500+ candidates.

Non-finalist…as a low income Hispanic with a 2240 sat… There will be better options. Congrats to all who are named finalists, there is a place for everyone in college

finalist!!! ahhhhh so excited! does anyone know how many of the over one thousand nominations became finalists? my notification says that there are 18 scholarships but i wonder how many other finalists there are. also, if some finalists do not get the scholarship, then they still get something right?

If you are a finalist and do not getting the scholarship (I think about half or a little less than half get it), you get a half-tuition scholarship or so if I remember correctly (the number I remember is $12,500/year). So that also gives you an idea of how many people were selected as finalists…probably 40-50ish.

For everyone that didn’t get it, don’t get down on yourself. The scholarship is very competitive. To give you an idea, one of the engineering departments had ~90 applicants alone that is supposed to give 1, possibly 2 Presidential Scholarships.

I am a finalist as well. Is the scholarship awarded to a certain number of people per department? I would also be interested to know how many finalists are selected.

^agreed!!! That was a very thorough and time consuming application. I am also a non finalist but congrats to all of the finalists!! What a great accomplishment!!
