DD did not make it. Good luck to the rest of you.
@nursing2020ny My daughter was a finalist 2 years ago. If I recall correctly she was there for two nights, staying in a dorm with current villanova presidential scholars. During the 2 days she was paired with other scholarship applicants to work on a project, and make a presentation. She also went through an interview process. My daughter really grew to love Nova over those few days. Previously it had not been her top choice, as both her father and I graduated from there and we live 10 min from campus. She did not end up with the presidential scholarship but I believe that all finalists were guaranteed a nice merit scholarship regardless (15k).
Best of luck to you, go Nova!
Okay great thank you so much!!!
Hi everyone, my son was a finalist for the presidential scholarship. He did not get the award, though. Found out on Wednesday. They did offer a very nice $16,000 merit scholarship that is renewable for all 4 years. While he is disappointed, it was a wonderful experience for him. The program for the 58 finalists was feb. 14 -16th. He stayed with a current presidential scholar, sat in on 3 classes, interviewed in front of a panel of 5. He got to know the campus. There were just over 1,500 applications for the scholarship, 58 finalists, and 18 scholarships. I am very proud of him!
Dang only $16K for a finalist… I’d expect they’d deserve more. No way I’ll be able to afford VU with whatever the Villanova Scholarship offers me.
Interestingly, @julia1611, my son was not selected for the villanova scholarship! Only presidential. I hope you get a nice amount and it can work out for you if that’s what you want.
