I was wondering if anyone knew how many students were offered an application for the Villanova Presidential Scholarship. I know that they are only interviewing 42, and selecting 28. Since the only criteria for this scholarship seem to be benchmarks, I am just looking for approximate numbers. Thanks.

I don't think they publicize this information.

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone knows when the apps for this scholarship come out, because I sent my SAT's by 11/1 (which is all i think the scholarship requires for deadlines), but I did not apply early. Will I still be elligible to aplpy for this award? If anyone gets the application could they please message me just so that I know when they are sent? Thanks.

i was offered one

I did not think it was offered to RD applicants. I applied early and my scholarship app had to be received by 1/18.

It was offered to RD applicants as long as they received ALL the application materials by 11/1. I was RD, but sent my materials in on time. I heard early January that I am a semifinalist.

bandnerd91321-
How did Villanova notify you about semi-finalist and when did you submit the app?

I submitted all my app materials by the 11/1 deadline, but didn't check Early Action. I heard about semi and admission the first week of January.

I'm confused- did you find out you were a semi-finalist when you rec'd the app? Were you invited for the on campus interview?

No, I sent in all the admission app materials by 11/1 as required. They called me on the phone to tell me I was a semi and then sent the additional scholarship application and instructions to me. They were due back yesterday, I think. Only finalists are invited back for interviews. I don't remember when they choose the finalists. Did you get invited for an interview already?

No, have not been invited for interview, nor notified of semi. Rec'd the scholarship app before acceptance, sent it in last week and V. rec'd Fri. according to USPS. Postcard said notification before March 1. However EA weekend agenda for Nursing says Presidential Scholars will be introduced at luncheon.

Bandnerds use of the term "semi finalist" is a bit confusing. For those EA students offered the chance to compete for this scholarship, I'm not sure there was any use of that term. Nevertheless, if you were offered the opportunity, whether you were EA or RD, you have to submit all the materials by January 18. Approximatly 40 students will then be invited to campus for a final round of competition. So, maggyd...in bandnerds terms, you are a semi finalist.

Yeah, sorry. I just looked up the letter and it does say "Candidate". Since they choose finalists from this pool, there is no other level between the two. My other schools call it semifinalist, so I just assumed that term. Sorry for the confusion!
