I’m wondering if anybody knows off hand if the Presidential Scholarship for academics and the the Presidential Scholarship for Talent can be stacked? I’ll call the school if you guys can’t answer!

Walker1194, two Presidential Scholarships (Academic and Talent) may not be stacked. However, regular scholarships for talent may be stacked with the Presidential Scholarship for Academics. The admission auditions double as scholarship auditions, so you could still receive a talent scholarship upon your admission into the program!

Thanks, D was academically admitted and granted the academic presidential scholarship. Helps to know about talent!

Congratulations to her! And best of luck in the audition!

Walker1194, congrats on your D’s admission and the Presidential scholarship. Was she also admitted to the Honors College? (That is a separate admission, and notification may come a bit later, but is made based on the application your d already sent.) If she is admitted to the Honors College, and chooses to participate in that (there are additional academic requirements, but Honors and Theatre and Dance “play well” together for highly motivated and organized students), she can apply for some additional scholarships from Honors.

If your d is a National Merit or National Achievement Semifinalist, Ball State does participate with school-based awards to finalists, currently $1000/year from National Merit plus an additional $4000 school-based award annually.

Additional scholarships awarded through the Honors College generally can be stacked on top of Presidential and talent awards. Unless things have changed, there is a specific application process for these that is available from the Honors College. Additionally, if criteria are met (test scores, grades…), students admitted to the Honors College are invited to apply for the Whitinger Scholars, which is an on-campus competition (well worth the trip to campus!) that covers 100% of tuition/fees and room and board. If you have questions about these additional scholarship “hoops”, feel free to PM me.

Scholarship awards change from year to year, of course, and the school itself is your best source of current information. As in most schools, scholarships that “stack” may not exceed cost of attendance.
