Anyone hear back about this yet? I got an email last week saying I'd hear about my status by the 28th, but haven't gotten anything either online or in the mail, and I'm starting to worry that it might bode ill for getting into Mudd at all (I haven't gotten my acceptance/rejection letter yet either). Maybe both will come in the mail tomorrow...

I haven't heard the results either. They will probably send it along with the acceptance letter which makes sense since the decisions were probably sent on the 27. My guess is that they didn't want to notify the semifinalists before they received their acceptance. Had they called, it would have been the most exiting likely letter in existence :)

Then again, it could just be that we didn't get it. I know that my chances were slim to none since I'm not a URM but it didn't say that I couldn't compete. After all, what's a few hours for even a minuscule chance at $200,000?

The PSP finalist letter came today with the letter of admission!!!

I got my letter yesterday. I'm accepted and a PSP finalist. I wonder how many people they take as finalists.

DS's letter said there were 200+ applicants for PSP and 50 finalists.

About this scholarship, are applicants supposed to fill out an application for it? I've never heard of it until now, and I think I totally missed out on an excellent financial opportunity to pay for the HMC $50k/year tuition. Oh well. There's always need-based financial aid.

$50k/year tuition.

$50k/year is tuition + room and board.

And room and board is like 5k a year. And then the cost of plane tickets from NYC to HMC and back.

But anyway, I am 95% sure Im gonna enroll in HMC despite the traveling costs. The HMC cards in the acceptance packet were so funny. College kids can get reduced air tickets, esp. when booked early.

Room and board is not $5k a year. I know this for a fact because board is that much by itself. Room and board is around $10k. Please don't make things up.

You do realize they include travel costs in the financial aid package? If you are getting financial aid, then it doesn't matter how far away you are because they will give you slightly more financial aid. It can actually work in your favor if you think about it. I'm from Cleveland and I spend $200-300 round trip on plane tickets, but Mudd estimates $900 a year for travel. It's not too hard to get cheap deals when you have both LAX and ontario international in the same county.

Our FA travel allowance was $1200 -- and S flew out to visit round-trip via LAX for $230 in October. He is flying out in two weeks on a free UAL ticket to Ontario. I know holidays will be more expensive, though. Another school where he was accepted, also a plane flight away, did not account for any travel expenses. :( Even our state flagship, 25 miles away, accounts for personal travel.
