for some, they did high school just to get to an elite college, but for others, that isn't/wasn't so. There is nothing wrong with saving 30k a year.

CD8705 - Okay, for the SAT, I took a total of 3 practice tests to study. I seriously got really REALLY lucky.

Anyways, I want to get into BHP, which only accepts 30 people :(

Some retarded quotes:
well, Im going to end up as your boss because Im probably going to go to MIT
"What was the point in studying to get high test scores and grades if you were just going to UT. I wish i was in your position."
Hey Cd8705: you're retarded, some people study for a love of learning and of education and not just to get into some college. You are probably a prestige whore.

Moreover, UT-Austin is a great school. My good friend's dad is a CEO who went there and turned down Yale, Fordham, and Stanford. As far as connections go, he says the connections he made at UT were very helpful. And where does he live? Well his firm is based in Manhattan with offices in LA and Miami. Moreover, his son went to CalTech for a year and transferred to UT and said the programs at Texas were at least as rigorous if not more so. So forget your elitist, ingnorant, prestige-whorish opinions.

What is it with people flaming all of a sudden?

UT is a very good school and one should be proud to go there.
