prestige

what egineering firms are more prestigious than BOEING?

please list.

Thanks

Prestige depends on your position in the firm. There are a ton of engineering firms, and I don't know how you would rank them by prestige.

EADS (Airbus is one their subsidiaries) is Boeing's rival.

goldman sachs, morgan stanley, bain, mckinsey, boston consulting group. engineering =/= prestigious.

The opening poster was asking what engineering firms were more prestigious, not just any firm.

Anyway, gh05t is right. Engineering is too broad a field to compare all the companies. Even within one type of engineering, there are usually quite a few specialties, and you can't compare firms that do different things. It also depends on what region of the country you're in. Some firms only serve certain areas, but are still prestigious.

there is no prestigious engineering firm. prestige comes from the selective hiring of small group of top talent. (ie. Bain, BCG, Mckinsey, Goldman Sachs)
Boeing and Lockheed Martin hire plenty of folks from all kinds of schools.

Is Lockheed Martin a good place to work at for an Aerospace major?

How do you define prestige? I see it as somethings that's directly related to the quality of work that a firm produces, regardless of the staff or the products. A prestigious firm would be one that is well recognized and respected within its industry.
