<p>Netshark, I would not worry too much. Like I said, among academics, adcoms and corporate recruiters, Michigan is at least as respected as Georgetown. The sentence you quoted above was according to the masses, not according to those in the know. To those in the know, Michigan is up there with the best.</p>
<p>Also, in Political Science, Michigan is one of the top 3 or 4 in the nation. Georgetown is not even ranked among the top 25. People always assume that since Georgetown is in the capital, it has a great Political Science program. It doesn't. Georgetown is excellent in IR and FS. So if you want got into Georgetown's SFS, intend to major in IR or FS and work for the State Department, then I can see why you would be torn. But if your choice is Political Science at Michigan or Political Science at Georgetown, I recommend Michigan, assuming you feel you fit better at Georgetown.</p>
