prestigious summer programs in Canada

Are there any good summer programs in Canada? Please recommend some.

if you are looking for a senior highschool program. i suggest you look into shad valley.
It is well worth the money as a McMaster Shad Valley Alum, i say that it has been the best experience i’ve had in my life so far.

My daughter attended Laval. Excellent programme. Certainly did not hurt her - she and and another Shad from the same group just began Harvard. Admission is early December and the process takes a lot of time so start now. Cost was $2500 but worth it. Some universities (Dalhousie?) offer scholarships for Shad students.

I attended Shad Valley as well! (Queen’s)
I most definitely recommend it. If you’re a little antsy about the price tag, there are both merit-based scholarships (make sure you apply in December) and need-based bursaries. As well, there is a chance to be interviewed for a paid internship for the month of August.

Does Laval usually take place from May 16 to June 5? Our school does not end so early.

Shad ran July 1st to the beginning of August. The dates may vary. The one in Laval is offered in French but they are located all across the country. They are open to international students.

The link is Shad I attended the end of SHAD celebration. The kids were absolutely amazing. While many had an interest in science, a lot were accomplished in the arts. There is also a strong business component to the program. I have heard there is more financial aid than when my daughter attended so check that out.

not only does shad test you intellectually it tests you physically and mentally. By the end of the month you will have formed some of the tightest friendships that you’ve ever had. If you have any questions I can ask a shad valley staff member for the answers. The shad alumni network is great :)

I want to apply to other summer programs as well. I am not sure that once I am acceped by Shad, can I refuse to go because I am accpeted by another program?

yes you can choose not to go once accepted, but imo any student that gets in should go because its an opportunity of a life time. Any shad alumni will have good reviews of their experience there.
