<p>Well, I’m hoping you would choose the same career you would if this hypothetical situation was not brought up. In other words, if you’re choosing a career for the money, you’re not choosing the correct career.</p>

<p>if all jobs provided the same pay, I think I would try to avoid pressure/pain/effort and try to maximize fame and notoriety. </p>
<p>so I would cross off typical “dream jobs” like doctor, top lawyer, investment banker. I think I would want to be a leading academic given the equal-pay scenario.</p>

<p>I would like to be a 4th grade teacher or a high school english or math teacher. I would like to be the teacher but of course … it’s the money. </p>

<p>@bsmd11: I completely agree, except when it comes to careers like athletes, artists, musicians, actors, etc. Those careers aren’t realistic for most people, so they have to choose a more realistic career in order to provide for themselves and their family. </p>
<p>For example, in a perfect world where money isn’t an object, my twin brother will be an actor. He knows realistically he might not get that “big break,” so he’ll work as a theatre teacher, a career associated with acting, but more realistic financially.</p>
<p>I don’t need lots of money. I don’t want to push my limits and live in as large of a house as possible. I can have a career that I want and still live pretty comfortably… but if I don’t like what I’m doing with 8+ hours of my day/33% of my life then I have no use for money.</p>
<p>I would want to be a chef. Then get my own food show where I would cook and then travel around eating the best food around. I wish I was Guy Fieri. :(</p>
