Prettiest Universities on the Ocean in the United States?

I also vote for U of Miami. Gorgeous campus and great programs in both Marine Science (combined with biology or chemistry, etc as you MUST double major) and architecture.

Santa Clara is landlocked in a suburb and not near the ocean.

New College of Florida?

Also, I personally wouldn’t get caught up with specific majors because that eliminates a lot of potentially good schools for you. If you end up hating the major or end up changing interests, you might end up stuck at a school that possibly wasn’t the best for you overall.

Been to Pepperdine and UC Santa Barbara. They’re probably the most beautiful campuses beside the ocean I’ve seen in my life. UCSB is like heaven on earth. It’s rich with beautiful and hot people too, if that’s a point to consider. lol

UNC Wilmington is in an amazing, amazing town…it’s not right on the ocean, but it’s 5 minutes from Wrightsville Beach and 20 minutes from Carolina Beach. I absolutely love Wilmington sooo much, like i want to retire there some day! haha and Dawson’s Creek and One Tree Hill were filmed there, to give you an idea. I’ve heard marine biology is their strongest program too.

Bowdoin is 10 minutes from the coast of Maine-lovely campus too.

UCSC!!! also LMU

Echoing Herestothenights…UNC wilmington is a great place and you have a pick of several beachy towns. Rents are low.

ucsb, umiami, usc?

sorry, but which USC? If you’re referring to the University of Southern California, it is 15 miles inland in a sketchy area of Los Angeles. Actually its location is more of a negative than a positive.

^^^with lovely libraries, manicured gardens, broad lawns and palm trees, stone paths, fountains, stunning brick buildings, beautiful people and fabulous weather, USC is a very pretty university (per OP’s title question) and not far from amazing beaches. The actual location can be a negative to those Angelinos who lament its working class surrounding neighborhood isn’t more like Westwood.

all fair, but not anywhere near the ocean  , else it would be good to mention that University next door to Hef’s place.

Dunn, I completely agree. UCLA is a beautiful university! Even if it has a few slightly offbeat neighbors. BTW, isn’t Hef offering his mansion for sale?

UCSB is right on the beach, with a maze of bike paths to move around campus. The University has their own beach too. And check out the marine biology program, and all the intern opportunities. Very hard to get accepted though, unless you come from an under performing HS. Google it and first thing you will see is a picture taken from the ocean. The Alums are passionate about their 4 year experience at UCSB and have the highest giving rate of all he UC’s including Cal and UCLA!
