***I would like to note, that it wasn't until this summer that I realized how important college admissions could be, so I want to stress that my grades senior year WILL be all A's and B's

Schools (no particular order):

UVA
VCU
Virginia Tech.
Pepperdine
Reed
Pittsburgh
Sarah Lawrence (VA resident, btw)
Elon
Wake Forest
BC
Macalester
Carleton

*****yeah, broad list, but so far just ideas, I really want to major in philosophy, and would appreciate you opinion on my chances at this schools

********also, if you've got any other schools I should look at in mind, feel free to mention them!

i suspect a slight bump is adequate?

I'm not an expert or anything, but I think your grades may be kind of lowish for UVA- it's getting really competitve and the VA'ers i know who r applying have no C's. But then again you are in IB but still that's no excuse.
You're in at VCU, V-tech, and Elon, though. idk about the rest

You'll probably get into every VA school, although there is a chance that UVA won't take you.

But basically everywhere else on your list is a reach. Your GPA and your test scores just aren't that great.

Pittsburgh and Elon are not as bad as the others and Sarah Lawrence is SAT optional. But still, your GPA won't bode well.

thanks much, inputs appreciated :)

bump 10 char haha! (wait, that makes it 15... no 37... no 44... no 51....)

Wake, Reed, BC, Macalaster, and especially Carleton are significant reaches. Even UVA might be a slight reach. I think you are fine at most of the others, though.

sarah lawrence sticks out like a sore thumb here- i dont think they get many cross applicants with the other schools on your list. just a thought.

^Wrong. Reed, Carleton, and Macalester are similar types of schools. The discord is between the half of the list and the half with Wake Forest and VCU.

eh, VCU and UVA JUST becuase instate :/
