Well my first interview was at Cornell... when I came out I was pretty happy... but now reflecting back on it I think it was horrible. I had brought in portfolio/resume... and had prepared and stuff, but then somehow the whole -two hours- were spent discussing the school, rather than ... ME! I learnt a lot about the school, but I don't think the interviewer learnt anything about me. I am kinda upset. I wonder how badly this will reflect on my application for Ag. :(

When I had my interview, my interviewer and I both spent a majority of the interview talking about the school rather than myself. I, like you, thought that this was a bad thing after reflecting on it. I think, however, now, that since you talked with your interviewer about the school a majority of the time it shows that you have a great interest in the school. Remember for Ag it's an informal informational interview, and that is what you had. I got into Ag ED, and that shows that my interview either didn't count too much or that it was a good interview. IMHO after my similar experience, you had a good interview. Gl :)

what college did you interview for? If it wasn't hotel or AAP, and you're not a transfer, that's actually a great interview. They're informational; you are supposed to find out about the school during the interview. Cornell already knows most things about you from your app--all you need to add in your interview is anything you forgot/were unable to convey.

I think he applied to Ag from what he wrote in his last sentence.

thanks hahaha

then your interview was in fact very good. props... :D

Congradulations. But man.. now I'm in the hotseat :) I have to schedule an interview with an alumni, and I dont know anything about the etiquiette and etc. Does anyone want to give me some advice? Thanks in advance. BTW i applied to ALS AEM

Advice: Dress casually (Polo+Khaki's are a good combo), have a few questions prepared, and try not to psyche yourself out before going there. And most importantly, relax it's just an informational meeting for ALS. :)

yeah they're not judging you or anything. and for the record, the singular of alumni is alumnus (female: alumna)

i went to my interview in sweatpants and a tshirt.
the woman, who was a '99 grad, thought it was adorable. she kept commenting on how i made such a simple outfit look trendy.

good interview?

you're just that good, mrrubberducky

ahh true...such a burden it is

lol howve ya been canadaeh?
havent been on here lately. wats new?

haha not much . . . just fretting over Cornell and such . . . damn i want to get in

I had my interview earlier today. It was more about the school than me. My interviewer was a pretty nice guy, I don't really know how I did, but no big deal, it was just informal anyways.

I wore dress pants and a suit jacket with a light blue button up. I skipped a tie because I didn't want to go too overboard. Ended up I was wearing pretty much the same thing as my interviewer.
