Pretty Chancy

Hello everyone! I was wondering if you fine people would perhaps provide me with a bit of ye olde chance. I love and am applying to Wellesley, but I also love the life and passion of NYC and I’m trying to decide if I should apply to Barnard (if you wouldn’t mind, could you chance me for Wellesley too?)

from the depths of an unranked public high school:

SAT: 2160
CR: 720
Math: 690
Writing:750 with 12 essay

SATII
History: 770
Lang: 740
Bio:730

GPA: 3.8/4.0, and my high school doesn’t add GPA points for APs
RANK: 10/~400
APs: 9 by the end of senior year (chem(3) and stats(3) as soph, bio(5) and APUSH(5) as junoir, and for senoir year: french, physics, lang, psych, BC calc)

ECs: A LOT. a few leadership positions, too.

Awards/achievements: a few acadec metals, Wellesley book award, qualifing for nationals(along with me team) in a current events trivia competition called Worldquest.

so, what do y’all think? I’ve taken the hardest courseload in my class, but I’m worried that my lower GPA and rank (as a result) will hurt me :(

Um… LOW gpa and rank? I think you have awesome stats for Barnard!

thank you! lol XD

Just to let you know, a lot of Barnard-y people get sorta mad at chance threads! I’m not one of them, but I think it’s because it’s really about fit and people who fit into Barnard are usually pretty smart. I’d focus on essays. You seem like a great fit from your passion and determination, but numbers aren’t the only thing that will get you in (if they were, you’d be a shoe-in).
