Pretty daunting numbers for appeals, eh?

So, I was doing the math on the appeals process and it's pretty daunting indeed. Here's what I came up with:

Out of the 21,000 applicants who are rejected, only roughly 580 appeal- 2.7%
Out of those 580 who appeal, only about 30 are accepted- 5%
21 for spring semester- 3%
9 for fall semester- 1.5%
Total people who are accepted from the 21,000 rejects- about .15%!!!

Pretty daunting numbers, but hey, it wouldn't be a challenge if they weren't!
I'm appealing for the hell of it, and just because I've had my appeals letter and stuff for about two weeks now. I had actually written two letters- an appeals and a thank you letter to the institution. I sent the appeals stuff today, even though my school was closed this week, I am always prepared. I got a transcript from them on Friday just in case. It won't be official, but who cares, they can verify if later!
Good luck to all the appeals people!!

you are so prepared x_X good luck main!!!!

what are the chances? one in a hundred?
--well, it's more like a one in a million chance
YESSSS!!! SO YOU'RE SAYIN THERE'S A CHANCE!!

name that movie!!!

^ lol

Man, I should have written my appeal a long time ago too.... haha.

right, but look how much your chances go up for being accepted via appeal once you write the appeal letter-- 0% to 5%... that's an infinite increase.

Yes, that's true. Very true indeed.

melmel07- Name that movie: "Dumb and Dumber"!

hell yeah!!!

do yall think it would help or hurt to contact my local admission counselor (the one for OK and TX) to seek advice about appeals? i contacted her before about midyears

That's a great idea- if she is willing to talk to you, you should definitely get advice. Maybe you could appeal for an undecided major since Annenberg is so selective. You can always try to transfer in once you are there.
