I've got a problem, but who doesn't. I never knew what I wanted to major in, but I think I've settled on business. More specifically, human resources and/or management.

Since this was a recent revelation, I really don't know much about anything. My main concern as of now is my college list. If you all would be so kind as to tell me which undergraduate business schools are pretty good, that'd be great :) By pretty good, I mean those "worse" than Wharton and NYU Stern. I couldn't possibly get in with my mediocre 94.8 weighted average.

I've already considered Carnegie Mellon Tepper and UMich Ross. However, I'd love more information. I'd prefer schools in the northeast (New York, Massachusettes, Pennsylvania, etc.).

One last question, please! Half of my college list consists of liberal arts colleges that don't offer business programs, so do I gravitate towards economics or what?

U of N.C. - Chapel Hill, U of Texas-Austin, U of Virginia, Indiana U, U of Illinois, Wash U. in St. Louis, U of Minn., U of Wisconsin-Madison, Emory, Ohio State u., Perdue, Michigan State U, Penn State, U of Arizona, U of Notre Dame, Arizona State, Case W., U of Florida, U of Washington, Babson College, Texas A&M, U of Georgia, Wake Forest, Boston College, Georgia Inst of Tech, SMU, U of Iowa, etc...
So many good undergraduate B schools...

I second the suggestion of Indiana University -- very good business school and it's a lot easier to get into than you might guess based on how good the program is.

yup Penn State, Boston College, Bentley, Babson, Bryant (a.k.a. the 3 B's), Upenn Wharton and many other are all excellent business schools. Some are amazing all around (Wharton) while others are particularly strong in certain concentrations such as Bentley (accounting & finance), Babson (entrepreneurship) Boston College (finance). There are plenty of schools that are good now you just have to find one that you like and would fit well at!

Yeah Boston has a bunch of very good business schools. I'm hoping to get out of Penn State as soon as possible and go to some school in Boston or out west.

Ross (Michigan) and Tepper (CMU) are on par with (not worse than) Stern, as are Haas (Cal), Kenan Flagler (UNC), McIntire (UVA), McCombs (UT-Austin) and Sloan (MIT). Those are all top 5 or 6 BBA programs...and they are all mega-selective.

For HR and Management, Wharton and Ross are generally considered the top 2, but they are very selective and you seem to want slightly less selective. I recommend you look into Indiana-Bloomington as a good safety/match.

I also think you should look into Cornell's ILR school, especially if you are looking into HR. The college of ILR is rather selective though.
