pretty low chances

any chances a guy from new jersey can get in?

Studyhard:

Need stats. UCLA can be a Super Reach to a Match from out-of-state.

well, possibly. i mean, there are people from new jersey (and a bunch of other states) here.

Dumb question, but are all 50 states represented here? I'd assume so, but now am curious.

Well, considering UCLA receives the most apps out of any college in the nation, I'd have to to say yes.

possibly, but i'd say unlikely. that's because there's only a small pool of top applicants coming from the underrepresented states, and most of those kids probably would rather apply and/or matriculate at top private schools because they wouldn't want to pay out-of-state tuition.

im out of state (chicago, illinois) plus i just met two kids here from suburbs of chicago.

Well Chicago is different since it's such a huge city. I'd expect people to be going here from there. I'm talking about states like Alaska where the population is so low to begin with, that I wonder if anybody from there ends up coming down here for school...

Granted if I lived in Alaska, Los Angeles weather would sound pretty attractive.

I've met people from New York, Alabama, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Texas, Ohio, Oregon, as well as a bunch of internationals from Europe and Asia.

Both my roommates (technically suitemates, my rommmate dropped and now I have a single :)) are internationals from Asia. There actually seems to be a lot of international students going here!

UCLA has the 3rd most international students among all US universities. I believe either USC or NYU is #1, and the other is #2.

studyhard,

UCLA: slight reach/match

most things look good. if i were you, i'd apply because your chances aren't bad. remember to do well on the essays because those can be important boosters.

UCLA: Match
