My brother went to Columbia and I may want to go there...will "legacy" be taken into consideration? Or is that only with parents/grandparents?

yea, it helps

A sibling who attended is not the same thing as a parent or grandparent but it is still an advantage. The best chance for this consideration to be taken into account is to apply ED.

I read on the forums that out of the Ivies, Columbia cares the least for legacy.

Yes, sibling helps. Your application is flagged. Almost as good as a parent.

Baseless and unsubstantiated, obviously. This certainly isn't the case.

does having an uncle teach at the fu foundation for many years help, even if you are applying to CC?

I doubt it. A kis from my school this year who has pretty good grades and like 1990 SAT got rejected ED, and both of his parents work at Columbia. I was shockkkeddddd.

they. work. at. columbia...
well, his SAY is pretty low...that's so strange. do you know if my app will get flagged?

Yes, a faculty member can definitely help out. Have him put in a good word for you and/or write a letter.
